Some of the clinical studies conducted on animals show that CBD has helped treat inflammatory pain associated with arthritis. A study conducted in 2011 showed that CBD is effective in reducing inflammatory pain in rats. This is achieved by affecting the way receptors respond to pain stimuli. Another study conducted in 2014 showed that CBD can be a good treatment for osteoarthritis. CBD and Chronic Pain

As per the experts, cannabinoids like CBD is capable of attaching itself to receptors in human immune system and brain. One of these receptors, called the CB2 receptor, plays a vital role in the human immune system and manages inflammation and pain. Experts believe that CBD can attach to these receptors and make the body to produce natural cannabinoids. In this way, CBD affects the way CB2 receptors respond to pain signals and hence help relieve inflammation and pain.
